'They Destroyed the FBI and DOJ': DiGenova Blasts Obama Admin Officials on Trump Probe

After a former Obama administration official accused President Donald Trump of launching an "assault" on the rule of law, former U.S. attorney Joe diGenova fired back on "Hannity."

Sally Q. Yates, who was fired from her role as acting attorney general by Trump for insubordination, said the president was violating the rule of law by calling for an investigation into why the FBI allegedly placed an informant in his campaign.

DiGenova said Yates, also a former federal prosecutor in North Georgia, gave a "disgraceful performance" on mainstream media outlets in bashing Trump over his call for DOJ documents.

"It's going to take a decade to rebuild the public trust in the FBI and DOJ [and] Sally Yates... is going to have to lawyer up," diGenova said, claiming that she is one of several Obama-era officials who used the FBI to surveil a rival party's presidential campaign.

Yates told MSNBC host and former Florida congressman Joe Scarborough that Trump "has taken his all-out assault on the rule of law to a new level."

DiGenova ripped the sentiment, saying Yates was a willing party to the "greatest political scandal in American history."

DiGenova also criticized similar remarks from Obama-era Director of National Intelligence Jim Clapper.

  1. After seeing how the FBI and DOJ operate. I would NEVER vote to convict anyone if I was on the jury. I will trust the word of a mobster before I would an FBI agent. Even worse, I see NO intent to change what they have become. They simply hide, bury, and obfuscate all their wrongdoing. They continue to lie until caught, then make excuses. I doubt I will ever trust the FBI again.
